Iran’s Foreign Ministry announces IAEA to visit Tehran
“The date for the visit of the senior IAEA official to Tehran has been set, and the trip will take place within the next 10 days,” the ministry’s spokesperson stated, as quoted in official remarks.
Iran had previously declared its approval for a visit by an IAEA technical delegation, although the team will not be conducting inspections of nuclear facilities during this trip.
The upcoming discussions are expected to center on the framework of Iran’s ongoing cooperation with the UN nuclear body, especially in light of recent military actions carried out by Israel and the United States against Iranian targets.
“Iran has consistently emphasized that the agency and its officials must act solely based on their technical and professional responsibilities within this international body and must avoid being influenced by political pressure,” the spokesperson added.
Regarding future nuclear negotiations with Washington, the official relayed that Iran’s Foreign Minister emphasized, “any future interaction or negotiation — if the conditions for it are met — will certainly be different from the situation before June 12.”
