Israel attacks Lebanon, murdering two people
One of the strikes hit a vehicle in Deir Kifa, located in the Tyre region, while the second targeted a motorcycle in the village of Bayt Lif in Bint Jbeil. Lebanese security officials identified the victim in Deir Kifa as Ali Haidar, a member of Hezbollah's military wing, and the individual killed in Bayt Lif as Hadi Ramah Mustafa.
In a separate incident, reports indicated that an Israeli drone dropped an incendiary device over a forested area in the village of Shihin, also in the Tyre district. The resulting fire spread through wooded terrain and olive groves. Emergency services, including civil defense units and the Lebanese Army, were dispatched to contain and extinguish the blaze.
Further reports revealed that Israeli forces are continuing to expand and reinforce a newly established military position on Hamams Hill, directly facing the Lebanese border village of Adaisseh.
These developments come despite the ceasefire agreement reached between Hezbollah and Israel on November 27, 2024. Mediated by the United States and France, the deal was intended to end more than a year of border clashes sparked by the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Despite the ceasefire, the Israeli military has continued to conduct periodic operations in southern Lebanon, asserting that such actions are necessary to neutralize what it refers to as "Hezbollah threats."
